...Noah got a MUCH needed hair cut on Thursday. My friend Ted paid us a visit (a hair cut house call), to give Noah a trim! It had been a while! Noah was a little scared, but held still like a statue. He wouldn't say a word to me, or to Ted, until it was over, and he realized he had survived and then was his happy little self!

Date at the Museum!
I had five days off last week, and I went on a super date with one of my favorite guys... Noah! Don't worry, Rob and I got to go on a fun date Saturday night too, as Noah and Caleb enjoyed their first sleepover together at PoPo's!
Noah and I made our first trip to the Museum of Nature and Science, and we had so much fun!

We weren't quite ready to call it a day, so we played a little bit in city park. We walked by the lake and chased some geese. Oh, we also tried some "Astronaut Ice Cream" (a personal childhood fav), and brought some home for Rob who declared it "disgusting". Noah also saw his first movie in a theater... a 22 minute cartoon about stars, and the sun and our solar system. He was a little scared when it got dark, but I think he'll be ready for his big theater debut in June for Toy Store 2!!!!

Happy Third Birthday Noah!
The Birthday Spread
I was pretty happy with the way the robot cake looks, unfortunately, the taste is another story... In my early morning haze, I accidentally made the butter cream icing with PEPPERMINT instead of ALMOND. Ooops! So, instead of tasting vanilla almond delicious, the flavor was a little bit more Crest! We used the cake for show, and I made a batch of vanilla cupcakes with vanilla and almond butter cream to serve with the "choc-y choc-y" cupcakes that Noah requested (you know, for those strange folks that don't like chocolate).

Thank You!
I have to thank my dear, sweet hubby for updating the blog once again! I just can't find the time, and he only works 8 days a month, so he'll take over photo-posting duties once again. Rob's just asked me to add my witty commentary to his posts. Not sure I'm too funny, but I'll do my best to narrate! If you're interested, I'll be going back and adding some blurbs here and there.
While I'm on the topic of how great Rob is, tomorrow is the 9th anniversary of our first date, can you believe it? Time flies! Nothing says destined to be together forever like a first date of Applebees chicken fingers and "The Perfect Storm" on DVD!
To start my commentary, I just have to post some of the hilarious things that Noah has been saying lately. He is so funny and learns new words every day!
About a month ago, Noah asked me to "please take the skin off my toast, mom!" ...he was referring to the crust!
The other day, Noah told Rob that "You're my best friend, Daddy!". Awww, cute!
We've been feeding our tenant's cat, Kubu, this week, and Noah loves to help. I told him that Kubu might be nervous, so the first time we went up to feed her, he said, "Don't be scared Kubu, I'm Noah."
On Friday, Noah told his Grandma that he was going to go to school, but not until he went on the potty. At least he gets what we are telling him! Let's hope that he turns three and magically decides he's ready to ditch the diapers!
Noah can't wait for his birthday! He got to open some presents from Grandma and Grandpa today, and he was so excited! I can't wait for his party on Sunday!
Rob was yelling down to me to bring up a trash bag tonight (dirty diapers), and from that point on, Noah got a huge kick out of calling me Lauren instead of Mom, "Hey, Lauren" (ha ha ha), "Bye Bye Lauren", "I love you, Lauren", etc., etc...
Of course, there's a lot to report with our little guy too...
Some highlights:
Dare I jinx this... for the most part, Caleb is now sleeping through the night! What a relief! He goes to bed between 8 and 9, and usually wakes up around 7 or 8.
Unless hungry, Caleb is the sweetest boy, and the happiest baby I have ever encountered. He doesn't make a peep until he starts to get hungry! He smiles all the time, and we just can't get enough of him! We feel so blessed to have him in our family.
He wants so badly to keep up with his big brother. He now sits on his own (just for a bit, before tipping over), and he gets up on all fours and rocks back and forth trying to figure out how to use that momentum to crawl. He has become quite mobile though, rolling and scooting to get where he wants to go.
I think he's getting ready to get some teeth... he is drooling like mad, and puts anything in his mouth that he can get his hands on!
Caleb will be 7 months old on the 15th! Holy Cow!!! Happy Tax Day!!!
I just love these boys to pieces! How lucky are we?

New Park
We had a picnic breakfast this morning, at a cool new park that is just about to be completed a few miles from our house. Once it's ready to go, I think we'll be frequenting this one a lot, it's pretty cool!
Chubby Little Legs
As the doctor said when Caleb jumped from the 8th % to the 25th % in 8 weeks, "He's really taking to the solid food!". I brought him to work yesterday (just to trade kiddos with Rob), and a customer said, "Wow, what a healthy boy!"... I think that was polite banter for, "He's a chubby little guy!" He's still on the small end of that % nonsense, but he's definitely filling out, as evidenced by his little Buddha belly, and those thighs, oh... those thighs! These pictures don't do these chubby, juicy, little thighs justice, but are cute, nonetheless!

Noah's First Bike
When Rob gives a gift, he just can't wait for it's intended recipient to open it up! In fact, he usually ends up giving gifts early, like, as soon as they arrive in the mail (he pretty much is into online shopping only, when at all possible). Last week, we went to go get Noah's birthday gift, a balance bike, and new helmet. Alas, Noah got his gift as soon as we got it home. We've got to get a better picture of him in his helmet. He thinks it is very cool, and just looks precious!

One fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish...
I had the fun task of hosting a baby shower for Rob's cousin Heather. She had her heart set on a Dr. Seuss theme, so we really went all the way with it, in every detail! I just love throwing parties, and I was really thrilled with how this turned out!
More Play-Doh
Noah really does love his "may-doh", despite looking rather unhappy in this photo. If you click on it to blow it up, I think Caleb looks a lot like me in this one.
Wishing he could do play-doh with his brother!
I cringed the first time I realized he was mixing all the colors together. Over the last 3 years, I've learned that mothering is a healthy balance of letting go and holding on tight!
Play-Doh Turtles and Snake... each time he makes a play-doh snake, he asks Dad, "Dad, you like snakes?". He knows the answer, but loves to ask Rob again and again.
A different sort of dough... helping make some homemade pizza dough for dinner. Don't worry, the sweet potatoes aren't for the pizza, just for some baby food for Caleb!
